I'm a sicky

I used to boast frequently that I never got sick. It would happen occasionally under moments of extreme stress, such as my PT boards, that my system would be weakened and I would be under the weather for a few days. Dylan has changed all of that. I got the flu for the first time in 5-6 years while I was pregnant despite immunization, now I've been sick twice already this month. How does he do it?! It's not like he's going out to play and bringing it back from his friend's house. There are amazing amounts of mucus coming out of his face, and since I have a sore throat, I'm assuming that the same thing is happening in the back of mine. Is he just sucking all my awesome antibodies out of me? I just feel like whining, but he doesn't seem fazed by the fact that he can barely breathe. He still smiles and plays like usual. I'm dreading the day when he really does go out to play and brings all the germs home.

looks like you should invest in some "sick clothes".

At our house there is always someone sick. stock in airborne, motrin, tylenol and pseudophed (the realstuff) albuterol inhalers, vix vapro rub, humidifiers. all help us and the kids are happy if you keep em drugged, I forgot my favorite.. Benadryl (diphenhydramine)

Sick kids are weird. They will puke all over you, then go back to wanting to play! If you're sick, they still want you to play- there is no rest!

Yes, in fact, he is sucking all the antibodies out of you. That's why breast milk is so good for babies - it contains your antibodies! Even with kids who go out and play, we have NEVER been as sick as often as we have this year. I blame the weather - anyone else want to join me? NO MORE SNOW!

That sucks...and your whole presidency ditched you on Wed night too. I am so sorry. :( We were having a CRAZY day! It was just not feasible for me to make it. I hope you survived and that you are feeling better.

I was sick for the whole months of March and April. This spring has been a very bad one for illness. Everybody have become vectors for infection. Anyway, thanks for the info on fixing my shin splints :)

Kids do have an amazing rebound ability - sounds like you're just busy building a big, strong, healthy one! Get well soon.
